Project description

The project consists on the restoration of two residential buildings located in the Plaça del Mercat in Cardona.

The two houses date from the 12th-20th century, Civil Gothic architectural style and are listed as BCIL. The two buildings are part of the set of houses that defined the public space of the Market between the 12th and 14th centuries, which became the center of the Town during the late Middle Ages.

The aim of the project is to adapt the first, second and basement floors for rental housing. As these are narrow corridors, the proposal is based on the unification of the two properties in order to be able to place a single core of vertical communications consisting of a new staircase and an adapted lift.
